SLAYYYTER RELEASES SEQUEL TO BEAT UP CHANEL$

2026 is undeniably Slayyyter’s year. The breakout star went from being a small opening act to the headliner we can’t get enough of - and for good reason. Her music is catchy but gritty, and the replay value is high.

Slayyyter’s hit sophomore album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, features the iconic (albeit chaotic) track “Beat Up Chanel$,” with its aggressive vocals and pounding baseline that make for a somewhat unnerving listen. It’s a little trashy, but it works.

Slayyyter has since released the sequel to “Beat Up Chanel$” titled “Brand New Chanel$’ as the first single of the deluxe album: WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA / wor$t man in america. “Brand New Chanel$” tells the story of Slayyyter realizing she’s been cheated on, which she allegedly discovered immediately before her Coachella performance earlier this year. (Jocelyn, H. 2026. Pitchfork) For a sequel track, it’s a total departure, and Slayyyter is gunning for radio on this one. The song starts out substantially less jarring, and it's actually quite soothing. The yearning in the opening seconds is visceral enough to grab your attention. By the time she launches into the full pop-rock, drum-driven chorus you don’t know whether to dance or cry. Both I guess? The song nails the pop production, alongside lyrics strong enough to hold their own without the shrouded vocal mix. (Give this a watch… the mic is ON.)

The music video is as dramatic and theatrical as needed for the self-proclaimed worst girl in America. She’s back at the desert house from “Beat Up Chanel$,” but now her bunny costume is black instead of white, and her party posse is largely absent. The edgy angst is melted into sadness. She even hits the shooting range again, but this time takes a square shot at “worst man in america.” The camera angles are off-center, giving a new perspective to the story. “Brand New Chanel$” brings in a new setting - a football field, a nod to the motif of growing up middle-class that is explored in “Beat Up Chanel$.”

In an eras era, it’s refreshing to see Slayyyter spend her time in one space to continue the story of “Worst girl in America,” putting out her music in real time rather than moving onto the next era. Her story is just getting started, and if “Brand New Chanel$” is any indication of what she’s got to say… we should all be prepared to listen to the party people’s princess.
