THE BROOK & THE BLUFF’S ‘WEREWOLF’ HOWLS WITH GOOD VIBES AND SELF DISCOVERY

Birmingham-born, Nashville-based indie rock band The Brook & The Bluff howls into their fifth studio album, WerewolfThe band leans into their rock n’ roll charisma as they traverse into an introspective road trip.

Howling into the night is the titular track Werewolf.” The track explores the duality of man and beast as it opens with the lead singer meeting a girl and later finding out that the singer is turning into a werewolf when the full moon appears at night, shedding its perfections. Personifying what the lead singer is alluding to in terms of faults and flaws to a T, while being infatuated with the girl. The track also features energetic vocals from lead singer Joseph Settine and blues-rock production.

From hunky dory werewolves to just getting by is the next track, Get By.” It is a motivational, pick-me-up track that is relatable every step of the way as you try to make the best out of the situation, like the cards dealt by hand in a poker game. The track is accompanied by a groovy, rockabilly production that adds fuel to the fire like a Formula 1 race car cruising at the finish line. The message is clear… never give up.

Can’t Figure It Out is the opposite of “Get By.” It’s an anthem of giving up when the going gets tough. It’s also on the nose given the times we live in. It is another relatable track in The Brook & The Bluff’s latest discography, Werewolf, where self-discovery is at the forefront, accompanied by acoustic guitars and folk rock aesthetics.

Super Bowl Sunday” may refer to one of the biggest sporting events in the world, where it’s the best on best featuring a banger halftime show and the creative Super Bowl commercials. However, the track isn’t about America’s beautiful game. It explores the heartbreak of the biggest day in sports history, filled with sports metaphors and pop-rock aesthetics from the 2000s.

Cruising down to Route 105 is the track that screams ‘Song of Summer 2026.’ The upbeat, energetic vibes that make you and your friends want to go on a road trip, traversing the highway top down while blasting on the stereo. “Route 105” is a reference to an Interstate Highway traversing many states, including the Carolinas, as mentioned in the lyrics.

Moving Along is the final track of WerewolfIt delves into the final goodbye of a trip of a lifetime, filled with precious memories and the stories people have told. It is accompanied by folk acoustic productions and somber yet sentimental vocals.

For those going on a road trip in the summer, for long-lasting memories, or to find their way out of an existential crisis. The Brook & The Bluff’s Werewolf has got you covered for whatever mood you’re in.
