LIVING WELL AT THE GREEK: PALACE LIVE IN LA

GREEK THEATRE - LOS ANGELES, CA

Nestled in the hills of Los Angeles is the iconic Greek Theatre, where hundreds of people gathered on Sunday night for one common reason: Palace. The British alt-rock band’s highly anticipated North American tour finally made its way through town, and there was no doubt that it was worth the wait.

The energy was electric as I made my way through the venue, with fans obviously eager for the group to make their appearance.

One by one, the group emerged as the beginning notes of "Dream On" rang out. At last, the crowd erupted as the sight of frontman Leo Wyndham appeared under a single spotlight.

The group made their way through a perfectly curated setlist. Fan favorites of the night included "Lover (Don't Let Me Down)," "Greyhound," and "Let's Go Swimming." The band also made sure to highlight new works in between old classics, performing songs such as "Ohio" from their most recent album release, Ox.

Up next was probably the most magical moment of the night. There had been a threat of rain for most of the night, but it had clearly decided to wait for the perfect moment to appear - during "Live Well." The iconic melody begins and as Wyndham urges the crowd to sing the words, tiny drops of rain appear from the sky. The crowd echoed every word, soaking in the moment along with the rain. And just as the song faded, so did the rain.

The set concluded with a well-loved encore consisting of "Holy Smoke" and "Brown Bread," before the evening officially came to a close. If you’re having FOMO from this show, then you’re in luck! Palace’s North American tour is continuing throughout the rest of the year, before their European leg begins next March.
