NO HORIZON PLAYS THEIR self-titled EP FOR SALT LAKE CITY

METRO MUSIC HALL — SALT LAKE CITY, UT

No Horizon took their talents to the stage at Metro Music Hall for a scorching full EP play-through of their self-titled release on the 25th of July in downtown Salt Lake City. The band’s presence on stage was electrifying, and they all had a hungry energy that filled the room. The vocalist held everyone's attention, screaming lyrics with guttural ferocity that was very engaging and authentic. They opened with "Smile", whose vocals are a highlight moment, contrasting with the growling screams, which evoke a raw, visceral feeling, supplemented by the clean, melodic sections that offer a great contrast.

Sound-wise, the performance was a masterclass in metalcore presentation. The sound was awesomely clean and forceful, making the subtlety of the band’s multi-layered arrangements audible through raw power. Every breakdown hit with bone-crushing force, and the melodic segments offered an interesting counterpoint that worked to highlight the band's versatility. The song “Echoes” got the crowd singing along and moving, while inducing mosh pits and a deafening scream of approval from people lined along the front of the stage. A special mention must go to the crowd, too, which responded in utter ecstasy to the sounds. They were headbanging along blissfully from the first note to the final one. The energy between No Horizon and the crowd was electric, a true reflection of the massive connection the band has established with their local fanbase.

Every heavy riff was met with a burst of appreciation, and even during the quiet between songs, there was a sense of anticipation hanging over the crowd waiting for the next assault. Midway through, Jon shared a heartfelt message about his late father, who had told him to keep pursuing music, and dedicated the show to his memory. They finished the set off by bringing up singers from their openers, Binding Vow, to finish out the night singing “Lost Our Way” with energetic excitement. Jon shared a heartfelt message about his late father, who had told him to keep pursuing music, and dedicated the show to his memory.

No Horizon's EP play-through wasn't just a concert — it was a statement. It was a full showcase of a band performing at their finest, delivering their music with fury and technicality that few can aspire to equal. For anyone in need of a shot of pure, unadulterated raw metalcore energy, No Horizon demonstrated the other night that they are definitely a force to be reckoned with; no doubt that their horizon is by no means limited.
