SALT LAKE CITY IS STUCK ON THE ACES
THE DEPOT — SALT LAKE CITY, UT
The Aces brought their GOLD STAR BABY TOUR to The Depot to close off the Thanksgiving weekend. Opening for them was Lydia Night, formerly of The Regrettes, with both acts emphasizing their gratitude to their audience in the spirit of the holiday. The Aces also reiterated throughout the night how happy they were to be home and to have their families there to support them in their home state of Utah.
The band started their set with a voice recording welcoming the audience into the hottest club in town, named after their recent disco-pop album release Gold Star Baby and going straight into “Jealous”. A few songs in, they did a segment from their podcast “Aces Space” where they share the tea they have going on for the week. A couple of fans were chosen from the audience to share something from their life, and the band would comment on it. They then kept the energy up playing songs from all of their previous releases along with the new album.
Towards the end of the show, the band scanned the crowd for the fans with the best outfits. Once they took a vote, they brought up two fans to have a nonalcoholic drink with the band and named them the Gold Star Babies of the night. At the end, they closed off the night with “Stuck” from their first release, I Don’t Like Being Honest, making sure to stay stuck in Salt Lake’s mind.
