THIS IS LORELEI’S SOLD-OUT VICTORY LAP AT THE MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG IN NYC

MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG — NEW YORK, NY

Nate Amos, more commonly known as This Is Lorelei and one half of rock duo Water From Your Eyes, has had a momentous year. After releasing the critically acclaimed album It’s A Beautiful Place with Water From Your Eyes in August, Amos blessed the world last Friday with the release of Holo Boy, a collection of re-recorded songs from This Is Lorelei’s vast discography from the past decade. Just days after wrapping up the last show of the IT’S A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TOUR, Amos returned to his hometown of New York for a sold-out show at The Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Before This Is Lorelei took the stage, fans quickly filled the floor for opener Dutch Interior. The six-piece band stunned the crowd with their lush and complex arrangements, playing songs like “I’ll Be Damned” and “Sandcastle Molds”. In between each song, different band members would swap vocal parts, explaining: “I sing this song now, so please applaud after”. An ask for applause was not needed, though, as the crowd quickly lost themselves in the music, making the whole floor swaying and moving together. By the time their set was over, the whole venue was buzzing for This Is Lorelei’s set.

Amos, accompanied by his drummer and bassist, quietly came onto the stage, putting down three drinks: a can of C4, an unopened bottle of beer, and a bottle of water while the audience waited in anticipation for the music to start. Amos quickly picked up his guitar and played the first song of the night, A Song That Sings About You” off his 2024 album, Box for Buddy, Box for Star, causing the crowd to roar with delight. For the rest of the set, the floor of The Music Hall of Williamsburg became a dancefloor as the band went through the setlist, playing songs all over This Is Lorelei’s discography. As he played hits like “Dancing In The Club” and “I’m All Fucked Up”, it’s clear why there is so much hype around the music. Amos’ ear for melodies paired with his sharp songwriting translates to an incredible live show experience.

If this show proved anything, it’s that Nate Amos is a force to be reckoned with in music, both in his recorded output and live output. While this may have been the last show for Amos for the year, he’ll quickly be back on the road. You can catch him as This Is Lorelei in Australia in March and as Water From Your Eyes opening for Hayley Williams that same month.
