COLONY HOUSE RAISES THE BAR FOR SUPPORTING ACTS

July 24th marked the arrival of The Fray’s SUMMER OF LIGHT TOUR in sunny and heat-scorched Los Angeles. Touring alongside the iconic band are their legendary support acts - Dashboard Confessional and Nashville favorite, Colony House.
The role of tour support can be a daunting task. Lead singer Caleb Chapman described it as being “the friend of a friend” at a function. However, after the first notes of "Highwire," it was evident that they had the spirit of the main attraction.
The very first minutes of their set showed that the stage is exactly where this group of friends belongs. It was as if they came alive, even only for the short time of their set. Rather than the gradual rise of anticipation that accompanies many sets, the energy started at a 10 and never wavered. A quick glance into the crowd showed longtime fans singing along to every word, never missing a beat. Chapman bopped from side to side, making his way through songs such as "Would Ya Could Ya" and "Cannonballers," before ending the night with the crowd-favorite track "OK OK OK OK."
Colony House made their exit with the crowd aptly jazzed and left begging for more. While I was already a fan, I have no doubt that every fan in the room left with a new favorite band on their radar. It won’t be long before we witness this group headlining venues such as the YouTube Theater on their own, but for now you can catch them all summer long on the road with The Fray.
